Instructions

Cooking the lentils and rice

1. Cook lentils in 6 cups water for 45 minutes, simmering over low heat in a covered pan. Allow to cool.

2. Take 1/3 lentils, place n small tupperware and mark Ruth/Wedneseay dinner please.

3. Cook brown ride in 8 cups water for 45 minutes, simmering over low heat in a covered pan until water is absorbed. Allow to cool.

4. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Shape into patties and cook on griddle or pan (may spray with non-stick spray) over medium heat, until nicely browned, about 6 minutes per side. Cooking them in the oven may be faster.

Side dish of potatoes

1. Chop potatoes into fry shapes, soak in water bath for 30ish minutes (thanks to Tom for this trick!) or as long as you have before you have to start cooking them.

2. Drain, toss in olive oil and rosemary or your favorite spice of the day and bake.

3. Place in a bowl and cover with a plate to keep warm. Or just bake them while you do the burgers on the stove top instead of in the oven - your call.

4. Serve with delicious cock-mayo, add Siracha to mayo to taste).

5. Serve salad with any leftover dressing from last night. If there are tomatoes, use 8-10 in the salad, too.
